To The Men And Women Who Chose To Burn The American Flag.

You made myself, and many others cry that night with your hatred.

First off, before you begin to read this and analyze which party I voted for, you can give up. I won't tell you because who I voted for does not matter in this article. Just to be safe, however, I will admit that I believe every one has the right to vote as they choose, whether they are mad or whether they are happy about the results of the election. Everyone is entitled to their own emotions. We're only human, and that's OKAY.

I like to believe that I pride myself in seeing and understanding both side's views. I understand where people may agree on situations and where they may disagree. It's all about having your own opinion, which I completely respect.

I do not respect, however, the hate and pure loathing that has accompanied this election's result. If you choose to despise our new president, which many of you do; that is completely OKAY.

However, what I despise the most is seeing Americans burn their own flag.

This is exactly what I saw on social media, the day after the election's results. Specifically, Snapchat's "Election Protest" which previewed the actions happening in New York City. That night, I watched a group of people happily set fire to an American Flag and then proudly watched it burn.

How else could I react to this video then to sit there stunned, astounded, shocked (every word that means having seen the unfathomable) and couldn't help but cry.

The American Flag has so many meanings behind its beautiful colors, but most importantly for myself, and many others it stands for the men who fought for this country. It stands for every Veteran and their brave souls. Yet, here I was, sitting in my room two days before Veterans Day and I watched citizens burn our flag.

There was so much hatred, that I felt completely and utterly uncomfortable as I watch the American Flag crumple to the cheap, dirt ground. I write only for this action and how disgusted I was.

You are more than welcome to have your opinion and share your views, in a kindly, respectable manner.

I don't have much of a point to this article, mainly I just want to point out how disappointed I am, as I am so sure many of us are. Political views aside, if you're an American Citizen you're in for these four years with me, but lets be effective and respectable during this time. We can do it together without disgracing our own country and while acting like mature adults.

I beg you to respect the American Flag because I cannot bare the thought of watching one more American Flag burn so unjustly.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
