From the second you opened your eyes, you wanted to love the world. You looked at the kids around you on the playground and decided to play with the ones left alone, the ones others want to forget and leave out. Again and again, you gave people countless second chances, always choosing to believe that they would do better next time or it was your fault that things didn't go as planned.

You never saw the way people didn't change, only the ways they could. You never saw how, in helping everyone else, you were forgetting to check on yourself. The world is so full of people who need love, you just wanted to keep on loving them.

They say love is a fix-it for everything, and, girl, it could be your superpower. Even when you're beaten down, even when you're crying yourself to sleep, you wake up, put on a smile for those people who need to see a smiling face, and keep on trying to love everyone. Everyone needs love, you tell yourself, but you forget to ask, "what about me?"

You tell yourself that they didn't change plans on purpose, they just forgot--for the eleventh time--and you keep on loving them. You bend over backwards to make sure they're okay, but when they never ask about you, you shrug and keep on loving them. Even when you got in fights or grew apart, you still find yourself wanting to keep loving them. So you try to love them from afar. It's a habit, a superpower that can't be stopped.

Your big, beautiful heart is a force to be reckoned with. It loves and loves and loves and doesn't want to stop. But it needs to, every once in a while, and turn that love back on itself. Make sure the cracks are fixed and it's still got love to give. Don't love until there's so little left, you can't love yourself. Take time to love yourself too. Don't believe the ugly whispers that say taking time for yourself is selfish, love yourself anyway. It's the only way you will be able to keep your superpower.

Keep loving the world and everything in it--the world could always use a little more love. Just remember that you need love, too. Everyone else needs love, but you can't easily give love from a broken or empty heart. Keep trying to love the world, but remember, you're part of the world too.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
