Dear loved one(s),

I know recently I have many of loved ones that are in heaven. Heaven is far away but I know you guys are close to my heart. Since most of you guys left me at a young age, I want to update my life to you even though you might know my life already. I want to tell you things that I would tell you if I could just call you up. Heaven doesn't have a phone, or a computer, but we are going to act like it does.

So when you left my life Dad, I was only 7 years old. A lot has happened since then. That year after you passed, I made my communion and that was a hard day. I had to see everyone's dad's in the church with me, and take pictures with their child all dressed up. The ceremony was hard because that was the first major event that I had to go through without you. I don't remember the ceremony much, but I remember the after party. I remember feeling so lost without you. I remember family members saying congratulations and I'm so sorry for your loss, your dad was a great guy. I knew you were a great guy, I just wish I could still know the great guy more.

As the years went on, I went to middle school and high school. Middle school I did dance and I was not the best at all. I did hip-hop for 3 years but do I remember any dance move, not at all. I then joined lacrosse and I played for two leagues. I'm sure you saw how bad I was at that too. I only made one goal of my life, and that game none of the family was there, but I knew you were. You probably say how bad I was at running and keeping the ball in my stick. My final game of 8th grade came and all parents were welcomed and I just felt so alone with out you here to support me.

High school came and went. In high school I joined drama club and choir again. Freshman year I was in the basic choir and I made a lot of great friends then. Then sophomore year I joined drama club. We put on a great show. It made me feel like I belonged with these people. Towards the end of the year I got to do a duet with my best friend. After the show I remember thinking about you a lot because all my friends got flowers from their parents. Both their mom and dad. I got flowers from my friends parents and that made me really sad.

The summer after 10th grade, was really rough. It was the summer I turned 16. I had a sweet 16 and that was a fun but rough night. I didn't have you to walk me out for all my friends and family to see. I didn't have you to take pictures with me. The hardest part was the candles because I had to list your name along with the other names of loved ones in Heaven. Just saying your name first was the hardest because I could tell that everyone in the room had tears in their eyes as well.

The rest of high school came and went. Senior year I went on my senior trip, I made a lot of memories that I know you would have wanted me too. I went to prom, and I got sad taking pictures because I didn't have you to take pictures with. Graduation was soon after prom and yes it was a great moment to finally be done with high school, but I wanted you to be there as well. I'm sure you were watching me walk across the stage with a huge smile on my face.

Now I am in college and I am loving it! I joined a sorority, I made great friends, and I love my major. I don't get sad as much anymore just because I am always busy as you may know. I will keep filling you in my life even though you can see it through your own eyes. Just know that I miss you every day.

Love always,

The person you left too early.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
