A Letter to Cleveland (and its fans)

Two out of three ain't bad.

Our Dearest Cleveland,

You fought hard. You did well. And we are so sincerely proud of our Tribe. You fought right up until the end, and anyone who acts negatively towards you for that isn't really a fan. (After all, how many years have we supported the Browns, even when they haven't had the best season(s)?) And all else aside- we had a pretty good season.

And let's not forget our over all sports year? After all, have we already forgotten the Cavs season last year? Some would argue the comeback that the Cubs made was karma for our defeat of Golden State. After all, the Cavs did just get their rings. And our very own Monsters, who just re-branded from 'Lake Erie' to 'Cleveland', bought us home the Calder Cup from the American Hockey League.

So yeah, we lost the world series in Game 7, bottom of the 10th, by one little point. We lost our 3-1, our third championship this year.

But did you see our team? That was a great post season. Any member of our city should be proud of that! And you bet they'll still have their city behind them when Progressive Field (or, for those of us who still refuse to call it anything else, "The Jake") opens those gates again in the spring.

We may not be getting a third celebration, another Championship Parade, another trophy coming home, but we got to spend time, gathered around TVs and radios and even the stadium together. We got to have a few more post season watch parties, a few more tshirts in our closets, and a few more memories of our city.

Cleveland sports is now, arguably, holding the sports spotlight to see what our teams are going to do next, And don't worry, as Browns fans have said for potentially all eternity, "There's always next year!"

And like the song goes, two out of three ain't bad. We're proud of you, Cleveland.

Love,

Your fans

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
