Last night, I had the pleasure of watching "To All the Boys I've Loved Before" on Netflix and let me tell you, it was one of the best movies I've seen in a while. The movie had heart, humor, and a fantastic plotline that makes me want to watch it over and over again.
That movie inspired this article.
If you know me, you know it's rare for me to not have a crush on someone. I've liked guys ever since I can remember, starting with Daniel in the first grade. So when I saw that Lara Jean wrote five letters to every guy she's ever liked, that made me want to do the same thing, except I won't write letters. Each guy will get a little paragraph and I'll obviously change their names.
So here goes nothing.
To Daniel: Thank you for being my first crush. It was a strange feeling liking you at first, but I soon realized that what I felt wasn't just a friendship, but something more.
To Nate: You were the first guy I think I actually loved. I can't remember when I figured out that my crush wasn't just a crush, but I do remember that realization hitting me like a truck. It's not every day a girl in middle school realizes she loves someone, so that was a pretty big deal. I knew you knew I liked you at one point, but thank you for putting up with that.
To Ty: After I realized that Nate was never going to happen, I thought of just being with myself for a while, but then you snuck up on me. At first, liking you was a joke of sorts, but it turned into something more than that. Sometimes, I wonder to myself where you are and if you're happy in life. I hope you are.
To Peter: The award for My First College Crush goes to you. I remember walking in on the first day of our shared class and just internally melting. As scary as the transition to college was, knowing that I'd see you every other day made my life so much better. No matter how dreary outside it was, you always managed to brighten my day.
I'll never forget these four guys, but, to be honest, I would never have the guts to tell them these things in person, lest I do this:
