It is an understatement to say that second chances are scary. You tried to fight for someone, for something, and it didn't work out the way you had hoped. It seems the universe was telling you to just let things go and move on and you are forced to recognize the end of something you didn't think you'd have to say goodbye to.
Then something beautiful happens, some call it a coincidence, others call it fate, but the universe gives you another chance to get it right. You expect joy to be in your stomach and your head full of clear thoughts. Instead, you get trembling hands and clouded vision. Second chances are amazing opportunities, but if you're not willing to let them happen, they are terrifying.
Your brain begins to fill with doubts, bad memories, and all of the "what ifs." You go down a path of negativity because your brain is saying to you, "If it didn't work out the first time, why do you think it would it work out the second time?" You remember all that happened that caused the first chance to slip away and suddenly a second chance seems as though it would just cause more heartbreak or failure.
Second chances appear because people change, grow, and learn. The person that you hated when you first met is now someone you could see yourself being best friends with. That relationship that didn't work out, may just work out now because both parties saw an opportunity for growth during love's absence and realized just how much they wanted to be together. Sometimes things have a funny way of making more sense the second time they come around and it would be foolish to deny the fact.
You owe it to yourself to take that second chance. Allow yourself to feel alive again, but in a new and improved way. Life would be boring if we just stuck to first chances and then denied any opportunity for a redo. Second chances will com when life sees fit, don't force them, and don't be afraid because this could very well be the most beautiful experience in your life.
