In my family, Christmas is a holiday that follows a strict routine. We open presents, then we eat our food. After that, my sisters and I fight over what we're going to watch. I always want to watch basketball. They always want to watch Love Actually. Unfortunately, they always win(Why do we watch the same movie every year? God only knows).
However, we broke tradition this year and for good reason: This weekend, my family gained an awesome human being. My sister's significant other, Andy, popped the question inside the Escape Room( where you get locked in and must attempt to escape using the clues in the room). It literally couldn't have been any more perfect. I'm already excited for the wedding!
Andy is beyond caring. Getting to know him has been a fantastic experience. Talking about life with him has been great. His intelligence and wisdom shines through in every conversation. He's easily one of the most genuine people I've ever met.
My sister couldn't have picked a better person to join our family. I've never had a brother(I grew up with 4 sisters), and I'm extremely pumped to have one. I'm already excited for all the tennis that we'll play (he used to be a tennis pro) and all of the talks we'll have about life. Watching him help my sister be the best version of her has been exhilarating. It was clear that he was special, since she couldn't stop talking about him, and she's never been like that when anyone else. I can already tell that this will be a love affair for the ages.
Like KD joining the Warriors, it still hasn't quite sunk in yet for me(speaking of: did you see that dunk he had on Kevin Love today? It was almost good enough to make this list.) However, I can say one thing for sure: Andy is a welcome addition to the family!
