I'm not a momma, but I am surround by many, many beautiful mommas. Let me tell ya, they work hard. They don't sleep a lot, yet their babies are alive and kicking!

Mother's Day is soon, so I want to take this time to give a little shout out to my momma and the other mommas everywhere. Let's face it, you guys, Moms work harder than any profession I know and still love us.

Here are many, many thanks to my momma and all the mommas out there:

Thank you, for choosing life. I don't know what it feels like to be pregnant, to grow a human child inside of you, but I have been around plenty pregnant women and can only imagine how uncomfortable it is. Labor does not sound one bit of fun, so thank you for enduring so much pain with out knowing what kind of person I would grow to be.

Thank you for giving up sleep. You stayed up many nights over again to make sure I was breathing correctly, to feed me, to chase my bad dreams away. To make sure I came home at curfew (still unsure if this was to make sure I made curfew or to make sure I was safe--just kidding).

Thank you for sticking around during the teenage years. I know it's not anything like you to even think about leaving, but between the other four kids and me...those years were brutal. I was such a brat and you loved me through it.

Thank you for giving me your hair. Not really, I was just born with the kind of hair you have or had...I heard pregnancy de-curls hair. I love my hair. It is my favorite thing about me and your genes did that.

Thank you for being my #1 fan in everything. I played a lot of sports, had many recitals, presentations and you were at (or watched) every single one.

Thank you for laughing at yourself. That is an important ability to have because, well life. You do it so well that I learned how to. Which makes me say this: Thank you for not being a 'cool mom', but also not a 'regular mom' which we were growing up. You're cool in your own ways.

Thank you for loving Daddy. A lot of the time the dad get recognized for loving the moms (which is great), but you love Daddy a lot. Through your love for daddy I have seen such patience and grace.

Thank you for showing us Jesus/being a prayer warrior. It is such a #blessing to have you as a momma. When we ask for prayer you follow through. You have been through some stuff, but the way you trust the Lord and pray is incredible. You make us grow in our walk with Him.

Thank you for doing everything in your power to keep us safe. I can speak for the rest of your children when I was this. We have had our share of injuries and hospital visits, but those were out of your control. You gave us curfews and restrictions, in hindsight, was for our good and safety.

Thank you for "stalking". Even if you have accidentally added a brothers crush on Facebook, you have gotten better. It is kind of annoying but it means you care a lot about what is going on in my life.. so thank you (eye roll).

Thank you.. I'm at a loss of words. I look back over everything you have done for me and my siblings, and I am just in awe of how much you loved us and how you continue to love us. I understand you're not perfect, but to us you truly have been the best mom we could have asked for. So thank you for loving us so deeply that it was annoying. I love that when my friends meet you, they understand me better because we're alike.

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!!

Hope I made you cry because I did a little.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
