High school was fun, but absolutely nothing compares to college. If you're a college student, you know that every once in a while high school comes up on your mind. Here are 23 times you think about high school once you're in college:

1. On the first day of college, when you feel like you should be going to the school you just spent 4 years at

2. When you wake up to no alarm because your classes don’t start until noon

3. If you were unlucky and got stuck in an 8 a.m., you definitely think of HS when your alarm doesn’t go off nearly as soon as it did when you were in high school because your classes are a short five-minute walk away

4. The first few days eating three meals/day in the cafeteria when you think back to having to only eat there once a day

5. Then you realize that you can drive to Chick-Fil-a in the middle of the day and your principal isn’t there to stop you

6. Or when you go to the gym at 11 a.m. when you feel like you should be in class

7. Or stuffing your face with pizza at noon because that's an acceptable diet in college

8. When it's 3 p.m. and you're going to your first class of the day instead of leaving school

9. Seeing all the new seniors post pictures and think about how that used to be you not so long ago

10. When you come back to your hometown for your first Christmas break

11. When you're in a 300+ lecture hall and miss that all your old teachers used to know your name, birthday, and whole life story

12. Choosing all your classes and seeing how many options there are

13. In the morning when you have no congested commute to deal with because you just have to walk across campus to get to class

14. Or in the afternoon when you miss rush hour because, again, you only have a short distance to go and can most likely walk it

15. The first time you step on the scale after having left for college, realize the freshman 15 hit you and wish you still had your mom to tell you what to eat

16. On the days when nothing seems to go your way, you have three-plus loads of laundry, several assignments to complete, five finals to study for, and all you want is one of your mom's hugs

17. WALKING ACROSS THE CAMPUS IN POURING RAIN WITHOUT RAIN GEAR BECAUSE IN HIGH SCHOOL YOU SIMPLY WALKED FROM CLASS TO CLASS NOT BUILDING TO BUILDING

18. When you get to junior year and inevitably think back to how hard junior year in high school was

19. On the first day of senior year and you reminisce to your last year of high school

20. Eating at all your favorite places in your college town and casually compare them to all your favorite high school hang outs

21. Surfing the web in class because the wifi is unfiltered and unrestricted, unlike how it was in high school

22. During your last few days of college when you think back to your last few days of high school and wonder if you were as sad then as you are now

23. As you walk across the stage at graduation and think of all your high school teachers who helped get you here

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
