When I was in seventh grade, my teacher once predicted that one day, humans' thumbs would evolve to being located a few millimeters lower than what they are now to make texting easier for future generations. Back then, I thought he was just really funny. But now, when you take a minute to actually think about what he said, maybe he has a point.
It's all in the facts. The truth is that overtime, human bodies evolve and change to make living and life easier. For example, a dancer's big toe will evolve to be able to hold all of a dancer's weight because that's what she walks on, and it becomes stronger than the entire foot as a whole. Another is how society sees flat feet as ugly, When the reality is that flat feet are just merely the original form of a foot. Feet were not originally made to have an arch in them. As time went on, and the more people stopped walking, feet began to be developed with less muscle, which gives it the arched appearance. So, in reality, that beautiful arched foot is really from a lack of muscle due to the progression of laziness in humans. Another example is how our spleen is now a useless organ and can be removed with no effect on a person's life. This is because the purpose of the spleen is to digest raw and uncooked food. However, we as people have civilized ourselves, and with the help of fire, we now cook our food and no longer need the organ. I'm pretty sure that there are even rare cases when people are born without a spleen. However, I am not 100% sure.
So, the truth is that our bodies will change and evolve to accommodate our changing society. The truth lies in the facts, and the facts lead me to conclude that maybe one day, our thumbs will be located farther down our hand. By the time this revelation might actually occur in human bodies, we will be so far along in time that people won't even realize the change in human anatomy and it will be widely accepted. Our original form of hands will be a thing of the past. So, people of the future, get ready for a thumb upgrade.
