The early 2000's era of music was predominantly filled with some of the best hits since the 2000's were, well, the 2000's. These songs I have played on replay for hours, and still do to this day. At least one of these songs on this playlist that I have made for all my readers will make you go "OMG," "oh no," and "I remember this song!", or maybe all three, and hopefully some lyrical goodness comes back to you. The old teen pop that I listened to when I was growing up cannot be comparable to the sub-par that we listen to today. I suggest you listen to many if not all of these songs to be put back into your past and to feel good. And honestly, I would keep going, but my fingers got tired and there's too many.
1. All Star - Smash Mouth
Okay, right I get it...this song was released in 1999. However, it is such a classic. Whether you remember it from just listening to it on the radio, or the "Shrek" movie, this song is certainly the opposite of "the shape of an L on her forehead."
2. Hot in Herre - Nelly
3. Bye Bye Bye - *NSYNC
4. Stacy's Mom - Foundations of Wayne
This song had it going on, just like Stacy's Mom.
5. Aaron's Party (Come Get It) - Aaron Carter
6. Miss Jackson - Outkast
7. Low - Flo Rida
When apple bottom jeans and boots with the fur were actually cool.
8. It Wasn't Me - Shaggy
9. AM to PM - Christina Milian
10. Get the Party Started - P!nk
11. Jenny From the Block - Jennifer Lopez
12. She Will Be Loved - Maroon 5
13. You and Me - Lifehouse
This song played at every middle school dance ever. It was a slow song that all couples danced to...and I sat on the chairs by myself every time. I mean, one time I could have danced with a boy who bought me a candy rose, but I declined. Sorry, Dylan.
14. S. O. S. - Jonas Brothers
Just relish in the fact that this band existed, and also produced other jams such as "Burnin' Up" and "Year 3000."
15. Replay - Iyaz
16. Lips of an Angel - Hinder
17. Cyclone - Baby Bash (Feat. T-Pain)
18. Since U Been Gone - Kelly Clarkson
19. Ride Wit Me - Nelly
20. Boulevard of Broken Dreams - Green Day
21. Miss Independent - Ne-Yo
22. I Don't Want to Be - Gavin DeGraw
23. Leavin' - Jesse McCartney
24. Beautiful Soul - Jesse McCartney
Bless Jesse and his beautiful soul for such jam-worthy songs.
25. Ignition (Remix) - R. Kelly
Honestly, I don't think I've met anyone who likes the original more than the remix. Or if the original is even relevant.
26. Hips Don't Lie - Shakira
If you say you don't shake your hips at any point in this song, you're lying.
27. 1985 - Bowling For Soup
28. Move Along - All-American Rejects
29. Hey Ya! - Outkast
Pure classic. I don't think this song will ever die.
30. Hollaback Girl - Gwen Stefani
31. Sugar, We're Goin' Down - Fall Out Boy
32. Whatever You Like - T.I.
33. This Love - Maroon 5
34. Leave (Get Out) - JoJo
When I saw this song pop up on my Pandora, I was confused. But once the chorus hit, I was singing at the top of my lungs.
35. Mr. Brightside - The Killers
36. Absolutely - Nine Days
37. Get Ur Freak On - Missy Elliot
38. I Write Sins Not Tragedies - Panic! At the Disco
39. Lose Yourself - Eminem
Probably the only opening lines of a rap song that I can shout comfortably in confidence.
40. Complicated - Avril Lavigne
41. Thousand Miles - Vanessa Carlton
PLEASE tell me the notes of the piano just rang in your head.
42. The Middle - Jimmy Eat World
43. Pon de Replay - Rihanna
44. Milkshake - Kelis
My milkshake definitely didn't bring boys to the yard, but this song made me feel a bit more hopeful.
45. Umbrella - Rihanna
46. Promiscuous - Nelly Furtado (Feat. Timbaland)
47. Drops of Jupiter - Train
48. Big Girls Don't Cry - Fergie
49. Hey There Delilah - Plain White T's
I still wonder what it's like in New York City.
50. I Kissed a Girl - Katy Perry
51. Follow Me - Uncle Kracker
52. Don't Trust Me - 3Oh3!
53. Yeah! - Usher
54. Sk8er Boi - Avril Lavgine
He was a skater boy, she said see you later boy. I'm also saying see you later and hope you enjoy this playlist as much as I do.
