Top Three Reasons My Puppy Is Number One

As I sit here writing this article I hear little paws running around the floor. I turn on the light because obviously it's time to get up. As I move my laptop from my chest and place my feet on the floor, it never fails, I step in the present Luna (my puppy) left me! This brings up so many emotions! I feel upset that now I have to scrub the floor before having my first cup of coffee but at the same time I'm grateful it wasn't on my favorite comforter as it was the night before. With the arrival of a puppy comes a lot of things... This ranges from cuddles during the night, kisses in the day, waking up at four AM for a potty break, and all the little puddles of pee that you never miss stepping in! So here are a couple things to keep your spirits up and anger low when it comes to the puppy.

1. They love you, no matter how late you feed them...

Those days when life hits you over and over and you can't seem to catch a break your puppy is just happy to hear you pulling in the driveway. They know you coming home means food and love. So no matter how bad of a day you have had it can get 20X better once you see her jumping with excitement!

2. One day they will be big enough to hold it until the morning...

When I first brought Luna home she slept in my bed with me! This as all fun and cute until she was whining at the foot of the bed every two hours. My poor mattress got the tail end of my sleep induced laziness. Finally, a couple week down the road I sleep through the night peacefully. Pst... That doesn't count the mornings.

3. You will never be alone again...

Whether it is playing fetch in the lake during the summer or jumping in piles of leaves during the fall you will never be alone. Your puppy will not care what is going on or how little thought and effort you put into these plans as long as they are by your side their little tails will be swaying from side to side. Even on Christmas morning she doesn't care if she gets anything as long as the wrapping paper is up for grabs after.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
