22 Thoughts You Have While At The Gym

Summer has officially started, and with the carefree nature of summer we tend to be lazy. There's no denying this. Those of you reading this article while laying in bed eating a bag of chips understand. Even though you would much rather be watching Netflix and going out with friends for ice cream, you should probably hit the gym so you won't feel as bad about eating that ice cream. The gym is definitely not the ideal place to spend your summer, but it is important to exercise. Here are some thoughts I have, and you will probably have the first time you hit the gym.

1. Wow, there are so many people here. It shouldn't be that bad.

2. If getting here is the hardest part, I have nothing to worry about!

3. I'm going to lose so much weight after this workout.

4. Why is everyone else going so fast?!

5. I really wish I was that guy leaving right now.

6. It's only been 10 minutes?!

7. Why are my legs burning?

8. Why did I subject myself to this much pain?

9. Why is my shirt wet?

10. At least I look cute.

11. Oh no. If that's my reflection, never mind.

11. I can't wait for that slice of cake I'll be having after this workout.

12. What's for dinner?

13. So I have 30 minutes left, which means I only have to work out for 5 minutes 6 more times. I can totally do that!

14. I need water, but I can't stop. I'M SO THIRSTY.

15. If I turn up my music I'll go faster.

16. People are looking at me. Can they hear my music?!

17. I only have 10 minutes left, I can totally do this!

18. My legs are burning so much, I have to leave.

19. If I eat a salad for dinner it's okay if I cut my workout short.

20. NO. I have to finish the last 10 minutes strong!

21. YES. I'm done and I crushed it.

22. I can totally do this everyday. See you tomorrow gym (if I feel like it).

Getting to the gym is hard, and starting the workout is hard as well. But, the hardest part is sticking to a routine. The feeling you get after a workout motivates you to continue going. Once you've gone to the gym for a week, it gets easier. So, if you're contemplating if you should get a gym membership this summer, do it. You'll feel good about yourself knowing that you're being healthy and taking care of your body.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
