Other than homework and Netflix, college students spend most of their time either in class, or commuting to class. Those 10-15 minutes you spend trudging from place to place are perfect for planning your day, or dissolving into existential crises. And I am sure no matter where you go to school, or how long it takes you to get to class, at least of few of these following thoughts run through your head. Now at least you know you aren't the only one.
1. Why is it so hot/cold/(insert weather complaint) here?
2. Why is this class so far away? Like I have literally been walking for eight years.
3. Am I forgetting something?
4. Was there homework for this class?
5. On a scale of 1-10, how important is it that I actually make it to this class?
6. I’ve been working hard this week. Let’s stop for a coffee.
7. Ouch! This coffee is super hot!
8. Don’t drink it all now, it needs to last you through class.
9. Why can’t I be in bed right now?
10. Should I change my major?
11. Was that girl really just wearing a cape?
12. I need a Segway.
13. Whoa! There goes another long boarder/bicyclist trying to kill me.
14. What should I have for dinner tonight?
15. I need to eat better.
16. But all this walking counts as exercise, right?
17. Why isn’t that girl wearing shoes?
18. I love that girl’s backpack!
19. Can you die from swallowing a little bit of mouthwash?
20. I want a puppy.
21. Do I look sweaty?
22. Is that girl in one of my classes? She looks familiar.
23. What is college even?
24. Will I really have to be a real adult in a few years?
25. Should I just quit school now and follow my dream of becoming a Kardashian?
26. Oh my God, I’m going to have a breakdown.
27. Deep breaths.
28. Wait was there homework for this class?![]()
29. Didn't I already ask that?
30. I'm going crazy.
Hopefully, this list has made you feel less alone and less crazy. Well, maybe not less crazy. You are still crazy, but aren't we all? And if the thoughts above don't prove that then maybe our decision to procrastinate a 10-page paper until the night before will.
