The beginning of college, the midst of college, and the end of college. Is there really a difference? Yes, there is. Big time. Different thoughts come into our heads once “the college life” hits us. And I bet at least 99 percent of you will relate – one way or another.
1. “Can’t wait to start college!”
After high school we’re all eager to grow up, to meet new people, to party, and to have freedom to do whatever we want. You have all of these expectations of what it’s going to be like and your eyes sparkle at the thought of going to college.
2. “I didn’t think it was going to be like this.”
You officially start classes and it hits you. College.
3. “I’ll just find it on Sparknotes.”
When you’re taking your “basics,” you don’t really want to do all of the work and just look everything up on Google or “Sparknotes,” because, well, you’re lazy human beings. But it’s totally understandable.
4. “Do I really need this class?”
So, you decided to take a 7:30 a.m. class. And your bed is crying out for you. You’re tired of the night before and tired of “studying” – all you can really think of is if you really need that class because it’s slowly and painfully killing you.
5. “I’m going to graduate early!”
You’re feeling very determined and motivated; you feel unstoppable and ruthless. And you decide that you want to be ahead of the game and graduate in three years instead of four or five. But it doesn't matter when you decide to graduate, as long as you're ready and know that you can do it.
6. “What’s sleep?”
It’s midterms and finals -- the factors that will drive you insane. Pulling all-nighters and overdosing on coffee is how you get through it but will also have you wondering if sleep really exists.
7. “What if I drop out?”
There comes a point in your college career where you are extremely overwhelmed and ask yourself if you really need a degree in whatever you are majoring in. But then the coffee hits you and you come back to life.
8. “I’m so broke!”
The famous college problem. Whether you'll have one awesome night or a good meal. Free food is the way to everyone’s heart. Especially when it is originally valued for more than a dollar.
9. “Do I really want to major in this?”
You're staying up all night trying to finish that long-a** paper due the next day, and you're literally thinking of changing your major because it's been so hard on you. Or you’ve taken some electives and decide that you want to change your career paths. Well, no biggie, you just have to start all over again. No big deal, right?
10. “Almost there!”
Your junior/senior year is here, and you can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel. It’s far, but you can now see it. Keep going!
11. “Crap, what am I going to do when I graduate?”
You have finally gotten to that point where you are going to graduate and did not see it coming. So now, you’re wondering where you will work and here comes more stress, bring it on.
Whether it’s these or along these lines. We’ve all had these thought surround our minds one time or another during our college careers. Because, let’s admit it – it’s hard.
