If you are like me when in a car for an extended period time, you're probably going a little nuts. You're restless, excited and just want to be at your destination spot already, and the drive seems like it's three days long. However, the road trip is one of the best parts of traveling anywhere. There are so many things you get to see that you haven't and the chance to be in different states to see what they have to offer along the way. Whenever my family vacations, my mother is always on the look out for "The World's Biggest Ball of Yarn." When you are in a car for so long, you have a lot of time to think to yourself. Here are some thoughts that run through your mind while on a road trip.
1. Please tell me I brought everything.
Wait ... where is my cellphone?? *violently pats down self* Oh, it was just next to me ... that's embarrassing. *Fifteen minutes later* I CANT FIND MY IPO- oh wait, never mind. Here it is. Did I bring my ID, though?? I just checked like a minute ago, stop. Ugh, this is going to be a long trip.
2. God, this car is small.
Has it always been this small? I distinctly remember having leg room once upon a time. Maybe if I just ... nope, that way won't work. Oh god, my legs are going numb. Maybe my boyfriend won't mind if lay my legs on him ... and ... we're in the clear! I can feel my legs coming back to life. Thank you, sweet baby Jesus.
3. I wonder how many cows I am going to see.
Oh, look! A cow! And another one. And another. How come there are so many cows everywhere, but not one of them are white with black spots? I feel like I have been lied to as a child.
4. Are we there yet?
OK, we have been in this car for hours. We have to be there soon, right? Yeah, totally. Let me just check the GPS ... what do you mean we still have five more hours?? Nooooooo *dramatically falls over.* How is that even possible? It's only been four hours? I'm gonna die. This is it. This is how I go.
5. I have to pee.
Yes, I am aware that we just stopped at a gas station 30 minutes ago. I am also aware that the next rest stop isn't for another hour. Hear me out, the gas station was gross though, and I had a can of Red Bull, and now I gotta go. Like now.
6. Turn the music up!
This is my jam! Let's bring back old 2000s rap and go to town. I love being the DJ during road trips because it's what keeps me (and everyone else) awake and excited. We have the best dance moves in such a tiny space. You just have to ignore the stares from the other cars passing us. Turn down for what?!
7. Wow, the Earth is beautiful.
Passing these mountains are absolutely gorgeous. I can't believe something so pretty is just a few hours over from me. This view is breathtaking! I am so glad the GPS took us this way.
