10 Thoughts That Anyone Obsessed With Fall Has This Time Of Year

"I'm going to jump into a pile of leaves and no one can stop me."

If you're anything like me, you've been counting down the days until fall graced your presence. Well, count down no more because the wait is over — unless you're in North Carolina, in which case, the sweltering heat is still "gracing" us with its presence. Either way, fall truly is one of the most wonderful times of the year, and if it's your favorite season, then I am positive that at least a few of these thoughts have (or will) cross your mind at some point or another.

1. "When can I break out the sweaters?"

Giphy

I can hear them in my closet now, and they want me to free them. Trust me, I've been waiting to take them back out from the second I put them away.

2. "It's still 80 degrees, but also... sweater weather."

Giphy

If you live in North Carolina, then you know that the first day of fall doesn't actually mean all that much in terms of it both feeling and looking like fall. That's okay though because you can still find me dressing like it's about 20 degrees colder than it actually is. Sweater weather, anyone?

3. "Pumpkin. Pumpkin spice."

Giphy

Need I say more? I mean, no one who truly loves fall can enjoy it without pumpkins, right? Don't even get me started on Pumpkin Spice Lattes.

4. "Boots and pants and boots and pants...."

Giphy

I love boots, I love cute pants, and I would like to take this time to thank fall for bringing us together. Thank you fall, you are the best, truly.

5. "Bring on the hot chocolate please."

Giphy

Hot chocolate is amazing on its own, but hot chocolate in fall? That's another level of beauty that I don't think could be accomplished in quite the same way if you were to drink this tasty, chocolate-filled goodness any other time of the year.

6. "I need to find a  Halloween costume, STAT."

Giphy

Oh yes, the greatest struggle of the month of October (aside from midterm season, of course). Anyone who loves fall will know that the struggle is real when it comes to finding a Halloween costume, or when trying to DIY a Halloween costume yourself, and so I'm sure that this thought has probably crossed all of our minds at one point or another.

7. "Scary movies, anyone?"

Giphy

Scary movies are the perfect pair for Halloween, and that means that they're the perfect fall movie by default. They're also my favorite, and so this thought has crossed my mind at least ten times this week alone.

8. "Is it acceptable to put up a Christmas tree yet?"

Giphy

Anyone who doesn't get in the Christmas spirit as soon as the leaves start falling would probably say no, but if you're anything like me, then you can't go through fall without thinking about Christmas at least a good, oh I don't know, million times. So don't worry, you are not alone in your fall and Christmas obsessions.

9. "I'm going to jump into a pile of leaves and no one can stop me."

Giphy

Oh yes, nothing says fall quite like a beautiful pile of leaves, and even though you probably won't do it, nothing says fall like at least thinking about jumping into a pile of them. It's a classic fall move, if I do say so myself.

10. "OK, but where is the cold weather actually at?"

Giphy

While this one can relate to many places this time of year, I think anyone in North Carolina has probably had this thought about a million times by now. Trust me, even though the thermometer says that it's still supposed to be somewhere around 80 degrees all week, it will always be fall in our hearts (and on our calendars).

With fall finally beginning to show its beautiful face, what sorts of thoughts are you thinking?

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
