It's that time of year again, students around the country are packing their bikinis and swim trunks and taking it to the likes of Vegas, Los Angeles, Colorado, and Miami. Then there is me. I'm packing my bikini just to go back to my hometown and sit by the YMCA pool with a book and my laptop. If you're like me, then this story sounds familiar.
Ultimately, the real reason why I decided to go home this week rather than living it up like most kids my age, was because I am so exhausted. Ever since spring semester started, I've barely gotten any sleep, eat about twice a day, and am never at home. So instead of exhausting myself more, I decided to stay away from all the crazy partying and late nights so that I can catch up on some Zzz's.
The next reason was to save money. Initially, my friends and I came up with all these ideas of where we should go and what we should do. Then we came to our senses, we have way more important things to spend our money. So the spring break trip idea was marked off the list, and most of us decided that going home to a comfy bed, and a home cooked meal would be the best way to spend spring break.
I'd just like to say, that if you're like me, then you're probably watching everyone's Snapchat stories and feeling bad about missing out on all the fun. In reality, it doesn't have to be that way. Even though you might feel like you're stuck at home, this week off from school or work is the perfect time to work on something creative, or catch up on some good books, or even finish a good Netflix series. Don't allow yourself to become bored. Relax and have a good spring break...at home.
