How To Make 2016 Year Be Better Than 2015

2015 Year In Review

Believe it or not, we are about to end the year of 2015. Has it gone too fast that we couldn't cross many things off our list? Or has it gone too slow that we just can't wait anymore to graduate or to finish a project? Well, it's definitely have gone for the best because we can't wait to try something new - for some of us - and we can't wait to see what 2016 holds for us.

But before we close another chapter of our lives and open another one, we should/must remember events that happened this year. Many have suggested starting with a list of the top happy events and then go on to sad events, so here I go, are you ready? You might want to bring a napkin because some events will shock you.

    1. This year we were blessed to not hear about Honey Boo Boo anymore

    2. The U.S take FIFA Women's World Cup

    3. Surprisingly, we have seen lower gas prices even though we always hear about the shortage of oil in the world

    4. More entertainment

    5. ...

OK, I'll have to get back to you with 5-10 good things that happened this year. I apologize, but we have seen negative things in 2015 that we can't keep up with the count anymore. If you keep up with the news nowadays, you might not want to leave your house anymore with the crazy things that is happening in the world from killing to bad weather to a new virus. We are just waiting for the moment to hear from anchors to say "don't leave your house, stay safe." It has gone that bad.

So wait, could the year 2015 be the worst year ever? Are we saying it was worse than, for example, 2014, when Ebola was a threat to individuals lives in airports?

Yes, it is that bad. We have seen the most inhuman act done in many countries. We have seen a disabled journalist being mocked in public by a person who could potentially be our president. We have seen many young people living unhealthy lifestyle and students getting killed on a normal school day. Is it ethical to say that this life is normal? Should we continue to live our lives pretending nothing is wrong with the world or should we speak up, and in that case-if we do, many would say there's something wrong with us.

But hey, let's take one last look at the hideous reality of this year and to say good-bye (hopefully):

-This year, the U.S have seen the worst candidate election so far

-El Nino that ruined Christmas Eve for the South area with 80 degrees outside will also ruin it on New Year Eve with a cold front

-Mass shooting in schools and public places.

-The inhuman act by ISIS in many countries including Europeans countries (in 2015)

-Traditions have faded. It's more about the ideal image

    - Education is becoming more expensive. College tuition can lead you to bankruptcy

-Fashion had a turn a way

-We hear about solutions but no resolution. What happened to that gun control law?

-Global warming that is effecting seasons and might lead to ice melting in the north pole

-Technology has separated people from each other

I warned you that this year will shock you. But forget about the past for a second and let's raise our glass for a new year, for a new hope, and perhaps for a new change. Remember it's good to be different so don't get into peer pressure. Remember when you got into peer pressure in 2015, it only led to negative things. Let you shine ;)

Happy New Year!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
