Dear readers,

This is probably a hard ‘letter’ to write. I have sat down and pace about this for a few days and weeks and I came to the conclusion that I must focus on my degree! I am one semester away from my Bachelors and I believe that I need all the energy possible to get through it.In a few and beautiful words here are my last words on the Odyssey.

Over the course of the few months I have written for this platform, I have been deeply moved by my writing community and you all. You all have given me the strength and motivation to continue motivating others to do good and to have fun.I have to say, I found myself asking more questions and finding answers to most questions.

I started writing during a time where writing has meant words for encouragement. I then discovered my gift of giving others sex advice and I found it helpful even for me. I am not saying that I will stop writing forever, but I do need a break in order to do what I want to do with my life. My schedule has gotten hectic and pretty out of hand. Although, we can say this could be a short goodbye, I do cherish all the support I’ve received from friends and you the reader. I will return to the Odyssey when the time right.

I have forever changed my life by accepting the fact that I had a moment where I shared my thoughts and ideas with the worldwide web. I have had nothing but positive outcomes with each article I’ve written and I am so blessed to know you all enjoy the pieces I would struggle to make perfect. It was always about you all and always about what the public needed. I like to thank my editor and team at John Jay College for their support and for welcoming me into their arms. I have never thought about writing as a community, and they all opened my eyes to the idea that I could have a writing family and share opinions no matter what. I will continue to write, but let me first become the person I want the world to see.

My last advice for everyone is to cherish the moment and never seek comfort in others’ happiness. Create your own happiness; it will help find who you are. As for sex, play safe and simply be you. There is no one better than you and the best sex is always done when you know yourself and your partner well. We all can learn a little bit from everyone, just know how to stay true to who you are.

This is the moment where all I lived for becomes mine. This is the moment where I am going to shine. With that being said, I am Jhoel; actor, writer and friend. I’d like to take the opportunity to express that I love you all with all my heart and I will one post a new article in the future. Stay tune for many of my adventures to come. Like always and forever, with love J.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
