Things You'll Only Know if You have a Sister

Sisters. Sometimes you love them, sometime you can't stand them. The best thing about them is you'll always have them!

Things You'll Only Know if You have a Sister

1. The non-stop fighting.

As a sister myself, this is something I know real well. From the time you and your sister were toddlers, you've always fought. You fought in the car, you fought over your toys, you fought over who gets to pick out the new puppy. And now whether its fighting over who gets to sit shotgun, fighting over whether to watch The Office or to watch Gilmore Girls, or fighting over stupid little petty things, the fighting is non-stop and has been driving your parents crazy for years. Although after all these years you'd think they would be used to it by now.

2. Borrowing each other's clothes.

One of the perks of having a sister is when you go to the store and there's something you both like but the other sister gets it, you think to yourself, "Okay, that's fine. I'll just borrow it when she's not looking". It's all fun and games until she catches you wearing it.

3. Driving each other crazy.

One of the downsides of having a sister is the pure fact that you were born to drive each other crazy. Trust me, I know. It's so much fun driving your sister crazy by blaring the music you know she doesn't like through the house... until she does the same thing to you. But it's all in the fun of having a sister, because life would be so boring without someone to bug. It's altogether a constant banter that will never end.

4. You have someone who puts up with your sass and craziness.

We all have a crazy side that comes out when you're with your closest friends. Well, believe it or not, there's an even crazier side that comes out when you're with your sister! I know, hard to believe, right? When you're with your sister you can be as crazy and as loud as you want because she's just as crazy. You can also be as sassy as you want with each other because you know very well that you'll be sisters for a very long time and you have to love each other no matter what.

5. Whether you want to admit or not, you miss them every once in a while.

Let's face it, it's nice when you have a break from your sister for a little bit but, after a while you have no one to rush to when you have some new gossip to tell or no one to sit there and laugh like idiots together while you watch trampoline fails on YouTube or at terrible memes on Instagram.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
