You probably heard the unexpected news that registration for fall class is in TWO weeks, and if you don't know what classes to take, then you should probably schedule a meeting with your adviser.
Registering for fall classes is different than registering for spring classes. For one, registering for spring classes means you are in a continuous state, while registering for fall class means you are starting something new — a new year. In two weeks, you will have to make some of the biggest decisions of your life.
Where's your second home?
It's important to reflect back on this year and realize if this is the right home/community for you. If you are not happy with your college community, then transferring could be an option for you to think about. But if you realize that yes, this is the best college ever, then welcome home.
Major and classes
If you are happy with your major, then congratulations, you don't need to do any further research. But if you still don't have a major or are considering changing it, then you should probably start looking figuring out where your true interests lie. Knowing your major helps to set a clear path for yourself. As for classes, start thinking about if you want to knock out some classes in community college during summer or if you want to enjoy your summer for once.
Finals and Midterms
Realizing that registration is by the end of this month means there are only 7 weeks left of school. But before summer comes, there will be midterms and finals that will leave you feeling like a rock on a shore.
Money, dinero, dollar
Classes=money. This could be the hardest thing to think about during this process. But don't try to avoid it because it will find you someday. Take action now and know whether you will need to take loans again, look for scholarships, ask your parents for money, or work this year
Future goals
There's a reason we register for classes, and it's not only about getting credits and following the basic requirements. In fact, it's about setting future goals and the asking yourself "what's next?" Without a goal, you might find yourself registering for classes that you don't even need or will not benefit you in the long run.
But don't freak out like I did, you still have two weeks... and it will probably be filled with homework, essays, and exams and it won't even let you have time to think. Welcome to college!
