Thank you for being there when words fail me. You know how to make me smile instantly and teach me the meaning of unconditional love. So it is with large amounts of love and cuddles that I have to apologize for leaving you again. But before I do, I want you to know a few things:

1. I wish there was a way you could know that I am not leaving for good.

When you give me that look as I head to the airport, it is like I am breaking your heart. I promise to come back love, just a few more months away.

2. No dog I meet at school will ever replace you.

Although the dogs on the Oval are very cute and catch me during some emotional moments, they are nothing compared to your fluffiness.

3. I have given Mom and Dad specific instructions on how you like to be scratched and loved.

I got you, girl.

4. I give you full access to my bed while I am gone.

Just please for heaven's sake, do not pee in it.

5. You are the one I want to be greeted by after a long day.

Not by the mounds of homework that are actually waiting for me.

6. When Mom and Dad tell me you aren't doing well, all I want to do is come home and cuddle you.

I will always fear losing you while I am not home.

7. Thank you for pretending to know who I am when I squeal through the screen of a FaceTime at you.

I like to tell myself that you know exactly who I am even though your ears are probably just perking up because I am making baby noises at you.

8. I am sorry I must keep leaving you.

9. I will be back sooner than you think.

10. Finally, if I had it my way, you would be coming with me.

Reservation for two, please.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
