Indeed, it is fun to go out with a big group of friends to have a night of fun, or to meet up with one of your closest gal pals to get a mani-pedi and TREAT YO SELF.
But, sometimes we all need a bit of time to ourselves. Whether it's because we're introverts, like myself, and need to schedule alone time at least once a day, or you're an extrovert that needs to relocate themselves once a month or so, we all need to spend time getting to know ourselves.
Being alone is not, by any means, a bad thing!! Personally, I look forward to time spent by myself after a long week of classes or work.
Here are ten things to do alone and enjoy just being with yourself:
1. Get Coffee and Read a Book
Take some headphones to blast your favorite Spotify playlist, sip your PSL (or other favorite beverage from your local coffee shop), and just zone out into your latest book.
2. Get a Mani-pedi (or just one)
Having manicured nails will help you keep up the illusion of having your life together. And going to get them done alone? It's a very peaceful experience having someone scrub your hands and feet while you allow yourself to zone out for a few minutes.
3. Get a Tattoo or Piercing
There's something very personal about getting body modifications. Personally, I like getting my tattoos alone; it adds to the adrenaline of the event.
4. Walk Around the Mall
Window shopping and exercise all in one! Sure, you don't have someone talking you out of buying that totally unnecessary makeup brush at Sephora, but you also don't have to walk into stores you don't really want to go into.
5. Go to the Gym or Take an Exercise Class
No one you know there? Good, no one to see you fall flat on your face during your first Zumba or Hot Yoga class.
6. Enjoy a day at home alone
Because sometimes a girl just needs to eat chocolate in the comfort of her bed and without the restriction of a brazier.
7. Go to the movies
No one to talk to you during the movie. No one to steal your popcorn or drink from your straw. It's a beautiful thing.
8. Explore a Library or Museum
You don't have to track any children in the museum and you can sit in any corner of the library you want because you're alone. It's quiet and peaceful. You can absorb any knowledge you want at any pace you need.
9. Make Dinner
You're cooking dinner for one, meaning you can make whatever you want, serve it whenever you want, and eat it wherever you want. Sweet freedom!
10. Go Out to Dinner
#TREATYOSELF
It's not wrong or desperate or even creepy to do something by yourself. If it means getting yourself out of a comfort zone, which is always a good thing to try to do, then you've completed a huge feat. And hey, you have gorgeous nails or a full stomach out of it, too!!
