Hey you! Yeah, I'm talking you. You with your head down, you with the fake smile, you the person desperate to be accepted and pretending to be something you're not. I see you. I know how you put yourself down, how it feels like you'll never measure up, how it feels like society has put all this pressure on you. I know how hard it is to remember how great you are in this crazy world, so this is what I want to say to you. Here are some reminders:
Remember that you have a passion deep inside you that will change the world or change someone's world. I want you to remember that you are strong enough to overcome every obstacle. You've made it this far in life because you can do it, because you have the will, you have the power, and no one can take that from you. Please remember that if you do stumble, it's okay. You're not supposed to be perfect, no one is. Mistakes help you grow, and growing is what life is all about.
Remember that you are someone's best friend, role model, hero, etc. and because of this, you matter—to someone you matter, and they couldn't imagine their life without you. Remember that you have a smile that can turn someone's day around, that happiness spreads. Remember, the right people will accept you and if someone doesn't accept you, if they don't accept all of you, it's not that you're not with it, it's that they are not worth it.
But most of all? Most of all remember, the best person you can be is yourself—there is no one in the world like you and I know sometimes it doesn't feel that way. Sometimes, I know, it feels like you should be anyone other than yourself. It feels like you should be better looking, smarter, more fit, and a million other things, but just know, as cliche as it seems, you are perfect as you are.
So you, yeah, you! Put your head up, make that smile real, be yourself, don't worry about the world accepting you, because in this crazy, beautiful life, you are everything you should be, and you matter more than you give yourself credit for.
