It's the time of year where it's almost totally necessary to say what you're thankful for. I'm going to be a bit of a cliche and list what I am thankful for just before the actual day of Thanks.

1.) My mom and my dad

My parents are the strongest people I know, hands down. When my mom was diagnosed with cancer I was scared but with a positive attitude she kicks cancer's butt every day. My dad cares for her and they both work hard to provide for me. They're the bomb and I love them so much. I am thankful for their constant love and support. I am also thankful that they met, fell in love, and had a pretty great kid!

2.) My pets

April and Napoleon, I know you can't read but thank you for coming into my life. My pets are everything to me, they have such keen instincts that they know when I'm sad or upset so they will comfort me. They can drive me a little crazy sometimes but I love them to death. I am thankful for the comfort and joy my animals give to me.

3.) My job

As much as I complain that I have to go to work for potentially long hours, I am thankful I even have a job. I am able to make money and work with se great people I will always be friends with.

4.) My school

There's an inside joke at my school where we call it "SUNY Poorchoice" , but in reality it's far from that. I'm thankful I go to a school with open minded people who make it a great community to be apart of.

5.) My professors

I almost put professors in with school, but I truly believe they deserve their own spot on the list. The effort they make to get to know you and help you is truly appreciated. My professors truly care about my success and I couldn't thank them enough.

6.) My family

When you've got an amazing yet crazy family like I do, you're super thankful. They've always been there to support me and make me laugh always. When my mom was first sick they all made sure I was okay. It was so nice to feel their love, which I feel every day.

7.) My apartment-mates

My apartment-mates this year are the bomb. I was afraid that when my roommate and I moved into our new apartment on campus that we would be reliving the living situation from last year. We couldn't have been more wrong. We've become so close with them and they're truly great people. I'm thankful for their friendship and their humor! They're hilarious and I love it.

8.) My Roommate

My roommate is someone I'm thankful for every day. We got through a tough living situation last year but with her support we got through it. We have a great bond and we'll always be best friends. I love my roommate to the moon and back.

9.) My best friend from home

Well and my best friend from school since for our entire lives we've been in the same school system. So from 1st grade to senior year in college, we've been in the same school! I am thankful we've stayed close through the years, including the awkward middle school ones! I would say we've been through our my chemical romance phase together but is that really over? Regardless you've been my best friend for 9 years and I love you!

10.) My boyfriend

This boy has been putting up with me for the over a year and nine months, so yes I'm thankful for him! He's always supporting me and making me laugh! Whenever I'm freaking out he calms me down and makes me smile. I'm thankful he loves me the way he does and I know he'd do anything for me. Thank you for being you, I love you!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
