Since traveling is unavoidable during the holidays, people from all different states are on the road constantly. With that being said, those that struggle with road rage are in for a treat.

Everybody hates certain things others do on the road, however, a lot of the time, you don't even realize you may be doing them yourself.

In order to dismiss the anger on the road this holiday season, drivers need to stop doing these 6 things:

1. Forgetting to use your blinker

Have you ever been waiting in a turning lane for traffic to calm down for what seems like an eternity, only to have a driver off in the distance fail to put his/her blinker on? Had I known you were turning here, I myself could have turned a minute prior, and all of the frustration could have been avoided. Blinkers are there for a reason, people!

Also, if you are driving in front of somebody, and you know your turn is coming up, use your blinker. Don't be that person that drastically slows down to turn without any forewarning to the driver behind you.

2. Rubbernecking

We all do it at times, but it needs to be minimized. We need to control our nosy minds and keep our eyes on the road. Driving on an interstate going 70 mph to suddenly having to slam on the breaks is terrifying and maddening. It's even worse when you realize you had to slam on your breaks because people were unintentionally slowing down because they were intrigued by a driver pulled over for speeding. I can assure you that it probably isn't going to be a wild drug bust on the side of I40, but hey, I could be wrong.

3. Honking when there is nothing anybody can do

I promise you, honking behind me is not going to make the traffic move any faster.

4. Driving slowly in the fast lane

The fast lane is not for you slowpokes that like to drive 65 mph on the interstate. Yes, sometimes it's nice to just enjoy your drive without feeling like you have to keep up with everybody else. However, if you are wanting a mellow drive, mosey on over to the right lane.

5. Speeding up when others try to get over

If the blinker was used properly, it shouldn't be a problem to let someone over. They might not have realized their turn was coming up as quickly as it did, and because you didn't let them over, they missed it.

6. Truck drivers driving side by side

I honestly think when truck drivers get bored, they enjoy stirring things up on the road. They get a kick out of creating lines of traffic behind them.

Let's all try and reduce the amount of foolishness on the road this traveling season. Blinkers, courtesy, and swiftness will make all drivers with road rage happy.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
