When you hear the words "High school" or "College" your first thought probably isn't the weird stories that people bring home from those locations, are they? Well, here are a few stories that just might change your mind about this.

1. Possibly purple people.

"In high school a friend ran around in a purple morph suit for some day. I forgot why" - Dominic C., College/University

2. Fruity trees.

""A tree where people put bananas and sometimes apples and they just rot and become black and no one does anything about it" - Anonymous, College/University

"We have a 'banana' tree. Its a medium sized tree people put bananas in, and leave them there until they rot away. I also saw a apple in it once" - Anonymous, College/University

"Half eaten fruits being put in a tree" - Anonymous, College/University

(Seriously, where are these people going to school and where are they finding enough fruit to do this?)

3. Orbeez flying.

"The weirdest thing that I have seen on campus would be students throwing orbeez at each other." - Anonymous, College/University

4. And a T-Pose in a pear tree.

"The entire middle school choir t-posed during a song" - Anonymous, High school

5. Gorillas ARE dangerous.

"A man in a gorilla suit chasing people (yes, really)." - RetiredOrphan, High school

6. Socks - but only one.

"Socks. Just one of a pair. Everywhere." - Kait, College/University

7. Sometimes you just need some cuddles.

"People cuddling on the grass outside a dorm." - Anonymous, College/University

8. Are ghosts........REAL????

"Halloween I saw the ghost of Theta Chi walking around campus" - Anonymous, College/University

9. Now I'm curious, how DO you get a goose's attention?

"There were three guys. Two were video taping, and the other was kneeling in front of the pond (between the Studebakers and Noyer). In a (fake) New York accent, he said "Alright young bucks, now that you're ready to go out there and do God's work, ya gotta learn how to get a goose's attention"" - Hannah S, College/University

10. Pumpkin Head.

"lol bro wearing a pumpkin on his head" - Anonymous, College/University

11. Under-WHERE?

"I once found a stray pair of underwear underneath the sinks in the dorm bathrooms. Not sure how they got there, though...." - Anonymous, College/University

12. Toothbrush flush.

"There was a foldable, travel toothbrush flushed down one of the toilets in the dorm bathrooms. I don't want to know what kind of day that girl was having." - Kat C., College/University

13. Sink urination?

Anonymous

"Okay so a couple weird college update things. Last night, I found a pad stuck to the ground out side of some guys room. Today, my friend at NIU sent me a Snapchat that was a video of a sticky note on her door saying "do NOT urinate in the sink". Idk. College, man." - Anonymous, College/University

Is this a sign that we need to stop being kids and grow up, or is this just a sign that we need to start remembering the funny things that we see in order to write stories about them? The world may honestly never know.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
