The world is embracing sustainably sourced food more than ever

For so long, human behaviour and interference have created an essence of the world and our understanding of it that is entirely self serving. We have long behaved in a way that has sought to enhance and improve our lives significantly while also effectively and successfully being willfully ignorant of the true and often devastating impacts on other species and on the planet. In recent years, however, we have begun to see a distinct (and frankly overdue) shift in our approach to the world around us. This is an approach that has been met with exceedingly more interest and investment.

Now, the entire world is becoming better for it. Meaningful and sustainable action are more at the centre of all our collective decisions - and more and more often, they are also finally at the centre of our individual choices. In practically every aspect of life as we know it and in every corresponding industry there is, the shift to sustainable action and reaction has been steadily growing, becoming bolder, smarter, stronger, and more meaningful all the time. In many ways, this is just the tip of the iceberg. However, this is also the tipping point - and this is where it truly counts more than ever to continue pushing for that healthier future for all.

Agriculture embraces sustainable action

In the agriculture industry that today spans the globe, for instance, the focus on sustainability has been in motion in some ways for years now. However, in the grand scheme of things, agriculture is an industry that has definitely had some of the biggest potential to have monumental impact while also being one of the key industries that has had the most work to do in terms of encouraging and effectively bringing sustainability of the forefront of its foundations. Today, agriculture is finally embracing sustainable action and reaction - and it is the start of a fantastic future. Focusing on less food waste, more planet and body friendly methods, and more sustainable use of land for agricultural purposes, this is just the start.

This shift and what it means going forward

The world is finally embracing the shift towards prioritising sustainably sourced meals. Sustainably sourced meals have been a niche respective of the larger agriculture industry that spans the globe, for a while now. In recent years, however, the shift towards making sustainably sourced meals the majority (and eventually the entirety) has been gaining valuable momentum. Today, sustainably sourced meals are often, if not nearly always, the priority for individuals around the globe, whether it be dining out or simply getting groceries for the week ahead. Sustainable food is well and truly here to stay.

The future of sustainably sourced food

Of course, we still have work to do in terms of what we accept as our standards for food growth and consumption. While we have and continue to make great strides in the right direction, it is just as important to ensure that we are actively and consistently working towards continuing to pursue sustainably sourced food and meals until that is the norm and the minimum standard for our food and how we approach it. The world is finally embracing sustainably sourced food more than ever. And this is certainly going to be just the tip of the iceberg. The best is still yet to come - and that is quite exciting and uplifting.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
