There have been several times where I have wanted to give certain people a list of rules for their social media accounts, one of them being Instagram. There are several rules that must be followed if one wants to continue to be able to post on Instagram

1. Don't post more than once in one day

It is very annoying to have to look through every single one of your photos in my Instagram feed. People are less likely to like all of the photos that you post and end up just liking that first photo that you posted.

2. Don't use the multiple photo feature

Nothing aggravates me more than having to scroll through ALL TEN of your photos because I know that I am not able to focus on the one good photo or how good all the photos may have been. Spread those photos out throughout the week or just post the best one from the night. We don't have to see all of them. It also can ruin your profiles aesthetic with that little white box that shows up when going on your profile.

3. Don't use the Instagram filters

If you want to look like an Oompa Loompa or have a filter that looks like it comes straight out of the 1950's then be my guest, but if you want to look like you live in the 21st century just use VSCO to edit your photos. Don't even get me started on the "structure" feature.

4. Don't change your appearance

It's okay to edit your photos because even I admit that I edit mine, but if you edit them to the point to where you have different physical features that you didn't have before that is not ok. Wipe away those pesky zits, but please don't give yourself a nose job.

5. Caption etiquette

If you use more than two emojis in your caption it immediately looks trashy. Try not using an emoji to make the overall post look more clean. I like to put all of my captions in all lowercase because it makes it look more intriguing to the eye. Your caption also should not be half a page. Try to get your point across in less than three sentences.

6. Slow down on the Instagram stories

You should use the Stories feature that is now available on Instagram, but please do not put more than three photos on their or I just won't look at them all. Also if it is your friends birthday it is your obligation to post something, but try maybe posting it on your story or your finsta.

7. Do not post the same selfie from a different angle

Just because you turned your head to the right does not make it a new picture. Do not post the same selfie of yourself several times. Honestly selfies are slowly dying out anyway. Instagram content has gone more towards candid photos that are real and raw.

8. Try to post often but not too often

You should try to post at least three times a month, but no more than three times a week. Again it seems that three is the golden number when it comes to Instagram. Your followers want to see you on their feed, but they definitely don't want to see you every day.

9. Don't follow me if we haven't had an actual conversation

If you follow me and I have no idea who you are except for the fact that your bio says you go to the same school as me, I am sorry, but I refuse to follow you back. You can follow me and give me likes, but I will not return the favor.

10. #Hashtags #are #not #cool

Hashtages used to be cool in 2013, but we are no longer in 2013. We have now moved on to 2018 where hashtags just aren't cool anymore. The occasiuonal #hashtag for irony purposes is ok, but do not put 10 diffrent #hastags after every single one of your phtotos.

In conclusion before you post anything on Instagram come back to this post so you can remeber the proper rules of Instagram.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
