As soon as Starbucks puts out their pumpkin spice latte ads, you know fall is close. Here come the colder days, sweater fashions, and most importantly, delicious foods that you've been dreaming of since spring. Here are the top 8 foods you have been drooling over while waiting for fall...
1. Pumpkin Pie
Whip out your pie dish mom, its that time of year again! America's timeless classic, the pumpkin pie, will warm your hearts and tummies when fall rolls around. Don't forget the whipped cream!
2. Hot Cider
I can smell it already. Apples, nutmeg, and cinnamon fill my nostrils as the tea kettle whirs and mom brings me a steaming glass of apple cider! Just the right thing to hit the spot after a fall holiday meal. Now if the temperature would go down to match the drink, that would be nice too.
3. Chili
Beans, meat, corn, tomatoes, magic... oh, wrong ingredient? This classic hits practically all stomachs during the colder seasons in America, bringing cheer and content to all those who eat/drink/slurp/gulp it (depending on how thick mom made it this year).
4. Candy Corn
Here is the thing about this one: either you love it or you hate it. And for those of us, like me, who love it, it is so thrilling when we see the shelves stocked with them again!
5. Caramel Apples
This stereotypical fall food has been around for ages, and so will the caramel that will get wedged in between your teeth after eating one. Whether on a stick or dipped, apples and caramel go hand in hand (or hand in stem?) for the perfect fall treat.
6. Pumpkin Spice Lattes
I know it is overused, but I couldn't resist. The best fall treat in America, ladies and gentlemen, the pumpkin spice latte. What would we do without it?
7. Chicken Noodle Soup
Now that fall is here, you don't have to use illness as an excuse to dive into your favorite soup! Chicken noodle and so many other worthy soups become main staples during the cold months of the fall.
8. Caramel Popcorn
While this holiday treat may not be at the top of everyone's favorite foods list, it definitely makes the top 10 for me. Diving into fall for me means diving into a bed of gooey goodness that I can't get enough of, until my teeth start sticking together, of course.
