It has been a hard two years that is for sure. Two years filled with the worst pain of my life. Two years of watching my mental and physical health deteriorate. But in those two years, I met some of the most talented doctors. I met the doctors that helped me regain control of my life. Guys, this one is for you.
People cannot even begin to imagine what you guys have gone through to get where you are today. The sacrifices you have made in order to become the best in your field. The heartbreak you have endured. The triumphs that kept you going. The doctors you all are today did not happen by accident. You were born to do this and I thank God every day that you chose to embark on the journey of medicine.
I came to many of you a scared college kid begging for help but I left feeling stronger than ever. You all helped me in ways that I will never be able to repay you for. It has been a grueling two years but with every appointment, I feel myself getting a tiny bit better, a little bit more myself.
Something you all may not know is that I have always wanted to go into healthcare. My dream job as a kid was an ER doctor. When I first went to college, my dream was to become the manager of a hospital. Today, I am studying psychology and business but one thing remains as clear as ever — I want to enter the healthcare field in some way. I want to help people and you all solidified that for me.
Now I know you guys will probably never see this article, but if it happens to find you, I hope you take time to read it. More importantly, I hope it makes you realize just how grateful I am for every single one of you. I hope it makes you realize that all of your hard work has paid off. I wouldn't be where I am without you. I truly owe it all to you. Thank you for everything.
