So, I'm getting ready to wash my cheer shoes like I do Thursday night preparing for Friday night football and reality sets in that I haven't had these shoes as long as I thought I have.. I had thought it felt like an eternity, but now it feels like I just received them for the first time and that I have no idea where the time has gone.

You'll probably look at this and think "oh my goodness you need to desperately clean your cheer shoes" Or "why don't you wear different ones, you have tons" Yes, they do look a little dirty...or maybe a lot, but what is really on them is six years of football/ basketball games, pep rallies, tons of hours spent practicing, even more laughs, tears, and so many life long memories made that I'll cherish forever and ever. These are the exact shoes I began cheering with back in 7th grade which seems like it was just yesterday, the ones I still wear on the field / court out of the many I have today (perks of having small feet), and the ones that I'll finish my high school cheerleading career in. (Well as long as my mom doesn't hide them from me cause she can't stand them on how they look, but in her defense, they have been worked hard in and look kinda bad it's just some love though that's all no dirty promise).

Absolutely terrifying, crazy and overwhelming, once again I understand completely. Not necessarily about the cheer shoes, cause I mean they are just shoes, but the routine I've grown to get used to for years, finally coming to an end.

Moral of the story is that Nike cheer shoes are so awesome if you're ever looking for cheerleading shoes to buy and they can last six years and most importantly, don't ever blink. If you read a lot of my articles, you know the last two have been about being a senior and all the classes above me have always told me that it goes by fast and I'll want it to slow down. The sad part is, I never believed them until it's here and looking me dead in the face.

Even though it is somewhat depressing, the absolutely amazing news is that God will not only be closing this chapter in our life, but He will be opening another one for us. A more exciting adventurous chapter. Hopefully, in my case, maybe one with some new Nike cheer shoes I can continue my passion with.

Alright guys and parents of seniors, and especially my mom and dad, I think that may be getting close to the end with all my sappy senior articles.... Well.. At least for now! I'll give everyone a little break!

xoxo always, a senior athlete

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
