It is for certain that any and all parents are sure to spoil their college children rotten as soon as they come home for Thanksgiving break, particularly in the food department. However, going back to school and realizing that you have gained the Freshman 15 during your five days at home is not exactly the most thrilling piece of news. So, like every other college student on the planet, you decide to swear against junk food and diet for the three long weeks between holiday breaks. The countless gingerbread cookies, latkes, 9 million cups of hot chocolate, and the lack of exercise that you will be doing as soon as you go home again are incentive to stick to fruits and veggies while back on campus. If only your motivation after carb-o-loading on Thanksgiving could stick it out until the semester were over... Luckily, the cast of Friends can relate.
1) When someone comments on how "hangry" you've been acting lately.
Guys, really. Dieting is a piece of cake... *cue waterworks*
2) The excruciatingly painful feeling when you're craving an extra large cheese pizza, a side of curly fries and a chocolate milkshake, but instead, you settle for a salad...
... and hate yourself for it.
3) Finding any and every possible excuse for a cheat day.
I walked from my dorm room to the bathroom, that had to have burned a few calories, right?
4) That one friend who indulges in the world's greasiest, most deep friend and delicious treat known to man right in front of your face just to spite you.
That hurts guys. That really hurts.
5) Seeing Instagram upon Instagram of holiday cookies
Save me one for three weeks from now?
6) Not being able to process a word out of a friend or professor's mouth because you are SO hungry. All the time.
7) Genuinely feeling sorry for yourself because you know that once winter break is over, you'll be dealing with this all over again.
Where is my 6th grade metabolism when I need it most...
8) Deciding that dieting really is not for you, and breaking out the carton of Ben & Jerry's "Half Baked" with absolutely no shame.
