There are many schools around the country that have big Division One football teams, there are some that just have small not so good football teams and then there are the schools with no football teams.
Football is a way to connect, a social experience and if you don't have a football team you cant experience the Friday night lights or hot Saturday games. Here are 4 struggles of attending a school without a football team.
1. Seeing everyone else at football games.
Whether it's your old high school or your friends at college, the month of September is full of football. It's upsetting seeing all the people you would love to be with at exciting games. Don't get me wrong, soccer is great, but when you would much rather be in a huge stadium watching your team tackle it can be upsetting.
2. You miss out on tailgating.
The experience of the big tents, loud music, and grass games are a staple in college. With no team or no big stadium, you can miss out on those moments you'll be seeing all over social media. Don't worry though, they probably will have no memory of the actual game.
3. You don't get to go crazy and dress up for the game.
Part of the experience is getting all dressed up in college apparel, painting your face, and possibly even dying your hair for the big games. The atmosphere of seeing all the school spirit come together is unbeatable and for the girls the experience of getting ready with your girls for the big game.
4. You can't brag about how your team is #Winning.
Everyone loves when the team they proudly represent wins. The cheering, the excitement, and the loud stadium is something you'll never forget.
Now while there are many downsides when you don't have a team you do save money, save time, and save a headache after. There are many other things to do in college and the experience itself is one in a million. Try new things, attend new sports, and go out with friends you will forget all about your nonexistent football team until you see another Snapchat on Saturday.
