Mom,
I want to thank you for everything you've done for me that has always gone unnoticed. Anyone who knows you knows that you always go the extra mile to help me, and there have been plenty of times where I haven't given you the gratitude that you deserve. Without you, I wouldn't be able to get through each day. You are always there for me when I need you. You're there to give me advice and to build up my confidence when I've lost it. You're there to tell me where things are in the grocery store and what physician I need to put down on any medical form. You're there to ease the pain of a broken heart and help me understand that people will not always want what is best for you. However, I will always know that you want what is best for me.
The title of this post is relevant because you are the strongest woman I know. There is so much that you've gone through that I would never know how to handle. I always hope to have that same amount of strength and courage that you have when I get older. If I'm able to have that strength, I know that I will be able to get through anything.
I couldn't have asked for a better mother. You hold so many positions in my life that go beyond simply being my mother. You're my confidant, my strength, and my best friend. Without all of your wisdom and the little things you do to brighten up my day, life would be dull. I wouldn't want anyone else to share each moment of my life with, especially when we're laughing until we're crying (or peeing).
"A mother is the truest friend we have, when trials heavy and sudden, fall upon us; when adversity takes the place of prosperity; when friends who rejoice with us in our sunshine desert us; when trouble thickens around us, still will she cling to us, and endeavor by her kind precepts and counsels to dissipate the clouds of darkness, and cause peace to return to our hearts. " - Washington Irving.
The words that Washington Irving has so much truth. My mother will always be my truest friend. My mother will always be there for me to lean on when times get hard, and I always know that my mother would eliminate any pain or sorrow that comes into my life if she could. She chooses to experience hurt with me and cheer me up to the best of her ability, and for that, I will always be thankful.
