Yes, mom, I’m talking to you. Thank you for your constant support no matter what. You are truly an inspiration to me and so many others. You made it work when times were tough, and that’s something to be proud of.

It’s been adventure to say the least. From raising three kids and running a business out of our house, to going back to school. You’ve done it all. You’re one sole person who has had the pleasure of raising three unique, different, challenging girls who know what they want.

Being raised in an all girl house for most of my life (even the dogs are girls) I’ve lived a blessed life like no other. Not many people can say they survived living in the same house as three moody, teenage girls all at the same time, but congrats, you did it.

Looking back, I see my life filled with loads of vacations, summer days at the pool and coming home to a snack on the table after school. You see, being a single mom hasn’t stopped you from making our life great. In fact, some kids with two parents can’t say they came home to their favorite dessert after school. But you did it.

Even though some times were tough, like trying to juggle all of our activities, school work and drama, you somehow made it work. This is something to be proud of. You are one person, who made it work, no matter what. You never used being a single mom as an excuse. In fact, this made you stronger than the others.

For as long as I can remember, we have been told “work hard, so I can move to the beach.” Don’t worry mom, you will get the beach house one day. I would like to thank you for teaching us to work hard, because it will be worth it one day.

You made sure we all had everything we needed, and even things we didn't. Come on, you can never take too many trips to Kohl’s or Macy’s. We never went without essentials, and that’s an incredible accomplishment. From the summer trips to the beach, cruises, you name it, we’ve done it.

Mom, you are truly an inspiration. You have affected so many other parents and friends by being so strong and supportive. Single mothers out there can learn a thing or two from you. You always have a witty comment when we do something to embarrass ourselves and you’re always there when we need you most.

Most importantly, yes, you are a single mom, but you made it work and for that, I thank you.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
