The hook up generation is the current generation of college aged students. This generation does not go on many dates because some people just want to hook up.

Confusion of Terms

Everyone defines hook up in different ways. Some people define hooking up as meeting up. Some define hooking up as any sexual activity. Some define it as having sex. It gets confusing when someone just says they are hooking up, because people define it differently.

Loneliness

A person can be hooking up with several different people, but they can also feel extremely lonely. In many cases of hook ups, there aren't emotions involved. If a person starts to feel like they are only good for hooking up, they can start to feel lonely. Especially if the person is only good to text at 3 a.m. for a booty call.

Lack of Trust

The girl is hooking up with two guys at once. Both guys are only hooking up with her. But, they don't know that. It's not considered cheating at all because they aren't in a relationship. However, without having that conversation about if they are solely hooking up with each other or not, it can lead to a lack of trust.

Lack of Communication

Many people with hook up buddies don't know if the other person is hooking up with other people. It's a weird and awkward topic. The girl may not want to look like she is "catching feelings." The girl may not want to look like she cares to much. However, many people do not ask the important questions relating to previous hook ups.

Really Bad Pop Songs

So many pop songs are about sex. This has resulted in terrible lyrics.

It is important to find out if your partner is hooking up with anyone else BECAUSE of STDs. Yes, everyone took Health at some point so there is no need to get into the specific, disgusting, cringe worthy discussion about STDs. With the hook up generation, many people have unprotected sex.

Remember: get tested and stay safe.

Walk of Shame

If anyone ever has a chance to wake up early on the day after Halloween, do it. The walks of shame become creative and hilarious. Minnie Mouse had a good night.

Confidence

When a person is hooking up with someone else, they are bound to feel wanted, attractive and sexy. It can be a huge confidence booster.
