It's that time of year again to cast your vote! No, I'm not talking about the 2016 U.S. Presidential election this time. It's voting on the 19 nominations for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Class of 2017!

I've been a fan of rock music since I was little and I liked a variety of rock. The way artists interpret the style and make it their own sounds fascinated me. Time periods have made their mark on the music; the 1950s was Elvis, the 1960s was The British Invasion of The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, The Kinks, and American groups like the Beach Boys. The 1970s were Steve Miller Band, Fleetwood Mac, Doobie Brothers, Styx, KISS, Allman Brothers Band, Talking Heads and the 1980s brought in the pop rock with Genesis REO and Speedwagon. Last, but certainly not least in the 1990s, we had the grunge era with Pearl Jam, Creed, Nirvana, and Alice in Chains. The list goes on and on for each decade, but also the litany of one-hit wonders are thrown into the mix.

Every year, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame select artists who have contributed to the music genre by enshrining them into the greatest music hall of all. There includes a ceremony and tributes from other bands by playing inductees' songs that made them famous and have worldwide stardom. According to their website, the Hall inducts between 5-7 artists per year. Artists can be nominated multiple times.

As a fan of rock music, it makes me feel old in a sense that I've been listening to this type of music for years and the bands I've listened to are finally reaching their ultimate destination.

As a side note, besides visiting the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, another place to check out are the Hard Rock Cafe's all over the world. Not only do they have great food, they have awesome rock memorabilia from bands past and present. Memorabilia include drum sets, guitars, outfits, basses, and more.

Now the fun part....who are the nominees for this upcoming class you might ask?

A few of this years nominees include: Pearl Jam, Kraftwerk, Journey, J. Geils Band, Depeche Mode, Jane's Addiction and many more! In order to vote, it's very simple. Just login on their website with your Facebook and select five of the multiple nominees. The voting goes until December 5th! You get one vote per day. The artists who will be inducted into the class of 2017 will be announced in late December!

The link to voting is below! Keep on rockin'!

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
