Friends in general are a blessing to have, but your college friends are the very special ones. The memories alone make us all grateful, but our daily experiences and routines are what creates this special kind of bond.

1.You make the inevitable run to the dining hall together--Rain or shine

Dinner is at a certain time every night, no matter what the weather. On a night where there are chicken fingers, you know your group is the first to get there when they’re made fresh (we all know how gross leftover dining hall food is). If that isn’t true friendship, I don’t know what is! Everyone waits for you to wake up from your nap and get dressed so you can all go together. No one is left behind!

2.They motivate you to actually workout and not gain the freshman 15

Working out in college is by far the hardest thing to accomplish due to classes, studying, going out, and the gym closing at 9 p.m. That’s why having a group of friends in college is truly the best, because there’s always that gym freak who encourages us all to go. Later, they try to inspire us to eat healthy which is just asking for too much when ice cream is your best friend.

3. They see you naked and aren’t even phased by it

It’s a daily occurrence for your school friends to see you naked, but it becomes such a habit that no one notices how weird it is. These people see you at your all time high and low, so who’s a little natural look going to hurt? Whether it’s trying on 50 outfits or just getting out of the shower, we all see a little butt cheek here and there, but who’s judging? We laugh at this point.

4. They’re the first people to know ALL of your business.. and I mean every little detail

The minute you start crushing on a boy, these are the people you instantly run down the hall to inform. When you hang out with a guy, you’re either texting them every hour to keep them updated or just spilling for hours when you get back. If a guy breaks your heart, the whole group will know about it, and want to go after him more than you do. We feel each other’s pain together.

5. You watch the bachelor together, and each person is known to bring a specific snack for us all to share…*its our version of a pow wow

Mondays are the highlight of your week because your FAVORITE reality TV show is on! One person brings chips and queso, one brings popcorn freshly popped, one brings blankets, and the rest bring drinks... it’s a routine. You all bond over how much you can’t stand Olivia and how you all can’t wait for her to get kicked off. It becomes your thing. Every group of friends has their one activity they look forward to doing every week, so it helps get through the long week of classes.

6. Judgment free zone. When one cries, you all cry

This group allows everyone to be open about absolutely everything, and I mean EVERYTHING because it’s a judge free zone. Whether it be turning crazy, stupid drama that happens, or just needing to vent... these people feel with you. Being together every waking moment, you instantly become close enough where you’re open about everything (even things that don’t need to be shared). You’re all on an emotional rollercoaster at school, so we tend to all be emotional. Whether it be a guy, school, professors, or just life in itself, these are the best people to have by your side. When one cries, sometimes it creates a domino effect that ends in laughter because of how pathetic we all looked. You learn to love the perfection and flaws.

7.Friends who puke together, stay together

I’m sure a lot of you have experienced this a time or two in college. As terrible as it is getting sick, it makes you feel good knowing you have people by your side who love you enough to hold your hair back, or fetch you a trashcan to vomit in all night. It’s great because you know your friends are on your level when you have puking dates. Head deep in a trash can and you are still loved?! That’s true love at its finest.

8.You live in each others wardrobe

Why have friends at college if you don’t raid their closets for new clothes to wear? I mean c’mon, we know we all love clothes that aren’t ours (mainly because we’re broke college students who can’t even afford gum). Sisterhood of the traveling clothing item is probably one of the best parts, because we are all seen in the same shirt at least once during the semester. Sometimes it’s even used as a good luck charm.

9. You guys do everything together as a group..which means Ben&Jerry cartoon fastings are a group thing.

Ben&Jerry containers of ice cream are by far the worst blessing, but best curse. Although it breaks our bank (8$ for one), we tell ourselves it’s good for the soul. One or two nights of the semester that you know you’ve all had a bad few days, or maybe even hard exams that are just so stressful, you know it's time for a Ben & Jerry's night. These nights are the greatest because the ice cream takes away all your pain together by getting 6 different flavors and sharing all of them. All you can think about is how amazing your life is at the moment.

10. You create memories that will last a lifetime. Adventures that are unforgettable

Whether it be nights out that had an unexpected twist, getting lost in the city, upgrading movie night to a movie theater in the common room, bar nights that result in almost fighting, the endless nights at the frat house, and many crazy stories that should not be told..these are the people who create them with you. These memories could not be made at home. It just wouldn’t be the same without them.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
