Let me start out by saying that I love Halloween. The atmosphere is great. I love all the decorations. I love seeing children all dressed up going from door to door to collect their candy. I love Halloween parties and spooky hayrides. I love haunted houses and everything else. Almost everything...

I HATE adult Halloween costumes, especially the ones for women. It is honestly hard to go into a costume store and find a costume that will fit me. Being plus sized at Halloween sucks. Stores don't carry the right sizes and when they do those costumes are way more expensive than normal sized ones. I have pretty much stopped dressing up all together because I don't want to spend a ton of money on something that I will wear once (except a wedding dress one day of course.)

Then we come to the issue of costumes for women being skimpier than a paper napkin. It is becoming increasingly difficult to find a non- slutty Halloween costume. And again, those that do exist are super expensive. I mean I understand that they use more fabric therefore they are more expensive but it is honestly pretty ridiculous.

Just to show you some examples of these costumes that only a supermodel would look amazing in, I will show you 5 costumes that I would NEVER wear because I would never feel comfortable. Here we go (SKIMPY COSTUME ALERT):

1. The Sexy Prisoner?

Since when is a prisoner sexy??? Point made.

2. Sexy Harry Potter?

This is a sad excuse for a Harry Potter costume in my opinion.

3. A Sexy Clown?

Okay, this is not okay. Clowns are never cute. Especially with what is happening with clowns recently... NO NOT OKAY. And definitely not sexy.

4.Sexy MInnie Mouse?

Minnie Mouse is an icon for children. So why not make it sexy, right?! Not Right.

5. Sexy Devil?

Oh this one is a classic. But it still sucks! The costume is literally lingerie with devil horns. Come on, we can do better ladies!

Those are five actually very common halloween costumes for women. Why does our culture think that Halloween costumes need to be sexy?! I really don't understand. And this is why I will not be dressing up this Halloween season.
