I guess it was pretty cool growing up with a twin. I never had to do anything alone, including doctor’s appointments, friend hangouts, or even classes when we were younger. We had basically the same schedule and homework until about high school. Everyone always thinks it’s so cool that I have a twin, but I always thought of it as normal. The most asked questions I seem to get are:
Can you read each other’s minds?
The answer is no. No, we cannot. Being a twin does not mean we share a brain, we just shared a womb for nine months. We also cannot feel each other's pain.
Are you guys identical?
People often ask us this while looking at us and no, we are not identical. First he is a twin brother, and second, do we look identical?
Are you guys a couple?
No, we are just brother and sister going to see a movie together, we are not dating. The number of times people have asked me that question is ridiculous. I get it, we don’t look that much alike, and I guess the movies is a common date spot... but no, ew.
Would you date each other’s friends?
We would, we have, and probably still would.
Who was born first?
Unfortunately he was, but only by 17 minutes. That's okay though, because, as they say, first is the worst.
I’ve even had someone ask me if I would date my twin brother.
The answer is a hundred times no, incest is wrong and gross.
Why didn’t y’all go to the same college?
Well, why would we? We both are studying different things and don’t need to go to the same school.
Are you guys best friends?
I wouldn’t say we're best friends, but we do like to hang out, especially with all the dogs we have.
Do you have the same allergies?
No, I don’t think so. We both aren’t really allergic to anything except grass I guess, but he gets allergies a lot worse than I do.
Who’s the smarter one?
That’s hard to say, we received similar grades. I guess were both smart in different areas.
Which one does your mom like more?
Me, but I might be biased.
I love having a twin, its pretty cool to have someone who’s my age to hangout with at home over the summers and over breaks from school but, once again, we can't read each others' minds.
