Let me just start off by saying welcome to our Waterbury, Connecticut Odyssey community! Even if you are not a part of our team, you kind of are. Without you, our articles would go unread and unshared. All our hard work each week would be for nothing. So for that, we thank you!
Since you're technically kind of like an unofficial part of our team already, I think it's only fair for you to understand how much more you could gain by becoming one of our content creators. Think about the number of Odyssey articles you share and see on your newsfeed. Now think about what it would feel like if it was your article being shared.
I can honestly say there is nothing better than seeing something you wrote shared over and over again on your newsfeed, or watching your article spark conversation among your friends, your friend's friends, and their friends. Most of the time, you don't even know who is sharing your article. It's crazy to think some random person halfway across the country could stumble upon your writing by mere chance and share it on their Facebook page. The possibilities are limitless. Seriously. You know that whole "dad bod" craze awhile back? That stemmed from an Odyssey article, and the girl who wrote it was interviewed on Good Morning America because of it.
That could be YOU.
Now, I don't want to brag or anything, but I have a pretty awesome team of contributors. So not only would you open up a huge can of opportunities by joining us, but you'd also gain a new group of friends that would become your support system. Not only that, but you're joining a team full of diversity. We all come from different backgrounds, we have different opinions, we have unique ideas, and we can offer you a chance to grow as an individual. We write about topics ranging from veganism to feminism to DIY to politics to theoretical to listicles about Starbucks. You name it.
A few weeks back, one of my teammates wrote an article about soulmates, and let me tell you, I have never been so struck by an article before. I couldn't stop thinking about how unique the idea she presented was and how different it was from my idea of a soulmate. It's articles like those that change the way you think and leave an impact on you.
That's exactly what you gain from joining an Odyssey team. I hope you join ours.
