Fall: The Most Wonderful Time Of Year

Relaxing in the summer sun, just letting off steam, is nice... but have you baked seasonal goodies?

Fall: The Most Wonderful Time Of Year

Alas! It is Fall. The most beautiful (and wonderful) time of the year. In most places, there is a change in weather and color of the leaves. In Florida, sadly, we don't get that lucky, and it only slightly changes in temperature. If I recall correctly, it was in the 70s in North Florida on Thanksgiving last year. Someone, please, tell me that climate change is not real.

To begin with, I would just like to be that person and point out that most of the time, Christmas prep - my favorite time of the year - is happening throughout Fall. Fall begins September 22 and the Winter Solstice is December 21. So yes, I really love Fall. Winter is amazing in and of itself, but for other reasons.

While I may get some backlash for saying that I am not a huge fan of pumpkin, I love all scents pumpkin! The Pumpkin Cupcake Scentportable has been making my car smell like Fall since the beginning of August. Moreover, my boyfriend is a huge fan of pumpkin and would be slightly disappointed in me for saying that because his inner typical white girl loves PSLs.

When all of the Halloween and Thanksgiving decor starts showing up in Michaels and Hobby Lobby, I know that my happiness (just based off of the time of year) is about to have a two-fold increase. There are more reasons to dress up and more reasons for everyone to celebrate and have fun at the end of the year.

Once the "Ber" months begin (on September 1) I go into "IT'S SPOOPY SEASON" and an "it's time for Christmas music" mindset. I can't help the fact that I love Fall so much. Pumpkin patches, celebrating with friends - from Halloween parties to Friendsgivings - there's so much life worth living. I love this time of year.

While there is not a dramatic change in weather, the amount of bonfires that are bound to happen increases. If there's anything more than Christmastime that I love, it's sitting around a bonfire with my friends, just talking about what's going on in our lives.

This time of year is the best because it means traditions with my sisters (I love you Eliza, I wish you were here in Florida but it's okay! We'll FaceTime you.) While they haven't been traditions for an exceptionally long period of time, they are traditions now, and I love them.

Fall means more baking parties with friends and new recipes to potentially mess up. It also means feeding friends all of the extra food that comes out of the oven; lucky them!

Come November and December, everyone is so much happier. Seeing people happy makes me happy and everyone seems to be in a better mood too and it truly is wonderful.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
