Of course, it is always a long shot for The Detroit Lions organization to do what they're supposed to do. The Lions have been known for their crazy finishes for the past few decades. Not to mention that this year in the NFL has been nothing but unpredictable. That being said, the Lions could easily win out for the rest of this season and finish with a 12-4 record atop of the NFC North. Heres a game-by-game breakdown of how it could be done.
Week 11 & 15: Chicago Bears
This is a Bears team that has shown a lot of improvement from last years team. That being said, this should be an easy one for the Lions to pick up. Inconsistent quarterback play from Tribisky could hurt the Bears if the Lions can force the rookie to make some mistakes. The first matchup will be in Chicago which should help the Bears, but the Lion post a healthy 3-1 road record this year. The second game in Detroit should be well scouted and hopefully also ends with a W.
Week 12: Minnesota Vikings
This is probably the most important game left on the schedule for the Lions. A win over the division rival Vikings would heavily shape the standing in their favor towards the end of the year. This game will not be taken lightly for either team. The Vikings boast a very talented defense once again this year. One of the biggest factors that could help the Lions in this matchup could be Mike Zimmer's decision to start Teddy Bridgewater during this game. A QB who that hasn't seen live action in a while could also throw off the chemistry this Vikings team has created, benefitting the Lions greatly. Along with a game at home on Thanksgiving, I like their chances here.
Week 13: Baltimore Ravens
Once again the Lions go on the road to face this rollercoaster of a Ravens club. This is better for us because we still play better on the road. This should be a game where they can shut down the limited offense of Baltimore and get out of there with another win.
Week 14: Tamba Bay Buccaneers
Don't let their record fool you, this Buccaneer team is dangerous. They have talented ball players on both sides of the ball that could spell trouble for the Lions. This is not a game to look past at all. Yet another game on the road where the Lions played very well. If Jamies Winston doesn't break out and have a huge game then the Lions should be just fine, but don't be surprised to have a ballgame come Week 14.
Week 16: Cincinnati Bengals
Another team that is still competitive even though their record may not show it. This team can light teams up for points on any given Sunday with their weapons on offense. Although at times they can completely go against this and struggle to put up points. Darius Slay can have a very good game against A.J. Green and help this Lions team earn a victory in Cincinnati.
Week 17: Green Bay Packers
We could see a lot of very different looks during this week. If by all odds Chase Headly can lead his team to some win in the second half of the season, we could see a partially healed Aaron Rodgers playing against the Lions for a spot in the playoffs. But more likely the Lions will play a Packers team that has mostly packed it in for the 2017 Season. If they are nowhere near playoff contention, Rodgers won't even contemplate playing. If that is the case, our chances are very good to finish the season with a win at home.
