I know what you're probably thinking from my title. How can someone be a so-called "planner addict"? How does someone even get this involved with planning? Or you could be thinking that this title totally relates to you, and if it does, then you're just as awesome as me. But for those that don't relate, it's actually easy to get involved with planning, and once you get into it, it's very easy to get addicted. All you really need to do is buy a planner, find your favorite pen, and get organized!
So like I said, the first step is of course to buy a planner, right? It's very easy to find a planner, just look up the #planneraddict hashtag on Instagram, and instantly you'll be bombarded with pretty pictures of planners. Probably the most known planner for us planner addicts is the Erin Condren LifePlanner, which admittedly is pretty darn expensive (like $50 expensive). BUT if you really want to get into it, you can definitely go that route. The planners are beautiful and simple, and they come with interchangeable covers for those people that love coordination (unlike myself). I have the Erin Condren, but once school begins again in September I will be moving into my new Plum Paper Planner for functionality reasons (and because, well it's less expensive).
For reference, here is the Erin Condren:
and here is the Plum Paper Planner:
They look very similar, but I promise they're very different.
There's a blurb somewhere up there about getting organized, but I would like to personally tell you that that really isn't the case all the time (but it will be after doing it enough times). There are more than enough weeks that I have decorated the whole week, and have been so busy that I haven't even touched my planner, like this week here:
Or times where I'm completely prepared for my week, have my planner all filled with things I want to accomplish and I don't even do half of them, like this lovely week:
Let's face it, procrastination gets the best of us sometimes. BUT I think in this case, you have to start thinking of what fits your style the best. I used to plan my weeks out in advance and then decorate the whole thing to where you could barely see any white-space. I quickly learned that style wasn't really my thing, it stressed me out and I never accomplished anything because I was too busy planning it (trust me, my friends can account for this). So instead, I reverted back to simpler days and started planning day-by-day, which has really worked for me. I'm able to shift things around and really give myself enough moving room to fit in the days that I don't feel like doing much without stressing myself out. So here's kind what my days look like now since I've been doing it:
Oh, and the best part of being a planner addict? ALL OF THE STICKERS. Okay, maybe the organized life, but mainly the stickers. I mean come on, can't you see how cute they are? And yes, I'm totally being an enabler now, you'll thank me later!
