Everyone understands the feeling of boredom, especially during summer vacation. I have some life hacks to make sure you don't live a boring life.
1. Get on your feet.
It is extremely easy to lay around and do nothing. Don't get me wrong, laying around and being lazy is perfectly fine if you make time to be proactive, too. Get out of your bed and do chores around the house. Take a walk, exercise, and be productive!
2. Make an effort to spend time with your best friends.
Seriously, it is not hard to send a text to your friends. (And try not to wait for them to text you first.) Grab a few friends and chill with them, because being bored next to your best friend is nearly impossible.
3. Watch your favorite movie.
Learn all the lines to your favorite movie on Netflix, who cares how many times you have watched it? It is something that will always bring joy!
4. Walk around your city, explore the parts you've never seen.
Taking a stroll around the city can be quite entertaining; you get to meet new people, learn more about the city, and discover the quirky parts about your town that make it special. Experiencing new little shops and the way others live can really open up your mind. A lot of areas have special events, so keep your eye out for fun parades/festivals/etc.
5. Volunteer!
There are so many places looking for volunteers to help the community. You get to choose a place to volunteer, so you could enjoy your time there even though you don't get paid. Volunteering will keep you busy, introduce you to new people, and will help you discover what you enjoy doing.
6. Have a dance party.
You could blast all your favorite songs on the stereo and dance like crazy! The dance party could be a solo act or with all your friends. Dance and celebrate life, because it is so much more fun than laying down all day everyday. Dance every where and do not care who sees.
7. Call your mom.
If you miss your mom, just know she probably misses you more. Make time for your family and entertain yourselves with the latest family drama.
8. Watch YouTube tutorials.
Whether it is makeup, cooking, or DIY projects, you could never go wrong learning new techniques. Plus, you can try to create something cool and see how disastrous it turns out. (Why not at least try to contour like Kylie Jenner?)
9. Do internet stalking.
Lurk all over your crush's social media accounts; learn more about him, and try not to accidentally like a picture from 3 years ago. This guy may be a total creeper or your future husband, so why not?
You do not have to be bored for the rest of the summer. Open your mind to the possibilities that may come your way to gain experience and joy.
