The Kardashians have become a household name, not only in America but around the world. Everyone has a different opinion of the spotlighted family, from disgust to obsession. The sisters trump the E! Network, dominating the channel anywhere from three to five hours a day. On top of their own show airing constantly, they are a hot topic in E! News nearly every broadcasting. The family has become an icon, and yet a common opinion of the bunch is that they have no talent. I beg to differ. I believe each of the family members have a very important talent that many people lack: not giving a crap about what anyone thinks of them, their actions, and their words.
Do any of the sisters have an album or star in a big screen movie? No, obviously not. But just because their fame was not come across by a typical manner, that does not mean that the ladies are completely worthless and talentless.
The three oldest sisters, Kourtney, Kim, and Khloe, may have found fame in an unconditional manner, but as their celebrity status is constantly growing, they have used social media to their advantage. I believe they have done so in a beneficial way. The women promote healthy exercise habits, having a great self-image, and not letting anyone bring them down. With every post, they make on the internet comes a flood of backlash, and has that ever stopped them from getting in the limelight? I think it is awesome that despite a variety of opinions on every single move they make, they still live for themselves and constantly try to promote what they believe in, whether that is healthy living, fashion, or their own family values.
As for Kendall and Kylie Jenner, they have their owns strengths. They have grown up in the public eye with critical opinions on the way they were raised. Their mom has constantly been bashed for allowing her children to grow up on screen. Every single household in the world has a different situation, and although the Jenner girls' situation is far from normal, I have got to respect it. Despite spending their entire lives being scrutinized by audiences and paparazzi, I truly believe the girls have not turned out half bad.
Kylie has done what she wants with the way she looks and created a cosmetic line that embodies her personality yet is still wearable for most people. As a makeup lover, I must say the quality of her products are five star, and the versatility of every shade of every cosmetic she has created is incredible. Yes, I know she did not sit in the lab and come up with the formula on her own, but she did choose the shades and products she would produce. She made sure that lab put out a formula of liquid lipstick that was long lasting, not drying, and that smells like heaven in a bottle.
Kendall on the other hand has become a fashion icon worldwide. She is personally my favorite model, and that is truly because she worked her butt off to get where she is today. The fashion world is not a walk in the park, especially for a girl who is a part of a family that reflects so many various opinions. Kendall is taken seriously by designers and has become the muse for many lines. She had to learn, practice, and perfect modeling just like any other supermodel. You can't fake a good cat walk and Vogue cover. That talent is real.
The Kardashian family has become an iconic aspect in American culture. Although the family may be scrutinized for every single thing they do, from posting a risqué snap to literally just laughing while someone performs at an award show, they have not been stopped. Anyone can continue to bash the family, but those negative opinions will be masked by the millions of loyal followers that love the Kardashian family. So before you are quick to judge the family who is the talk of the town, think about the confident message they are portraying to every viewer.
It may just me, but I think confidence and doing what makes you happy is something we could all learn a quite a bit about.
