To The Judgmental Christians

Let's not forget that we are all sinners

To the judgmental Christians,

It is clear that the people who are Christians and claim to love Jesus are also some of the most judgmental and hateful people out there. Why is that? Why does this seem to be true? Christians have forgotten some of the fundamental points of following Jesus.

Being a judgmental Christian is basically being a hypocrite. You are saying that someone else has sinned yet you are a sinner yourself -- it's the pot calling the kettle black. You preach love but spread hate. There is a specific story in the Bible where a woman was being condemned and in the room of people trying to condemn her. Jesus says, "Whoever is perfect may cast the first stone." No one moved and no one would cast a stone. Why? No one is perfect.

A perfect example of this would be gay marriage. Yes, God created man and woman to live in holy matrimony but if you believe in God, you believe he creates everything right? So it would be true that he created a man and man to love each other and a woman and woman to love each other right? We are taught to love one another so who are you to judge someone who is gay and quote the Bible to make it okay? I'm sure they could quote the Bible against you and call out your sins as well. God sees all sin the same so someone who is a murderer is on the same playing field as someone who is gay in God's eyes. If we were all perfect and no one sinned, we wouldn't even need God. We would all be born with an automatic ticket to Heaven and to be honest, most of us would not have even been conceived.

Another example is having sex before marriage. As a Christian, you are taught to wait until marriage to have sex but not everyone lives their life that way. If you choose to wait until marriage that is fantastic, good for you! Even if you don't choose to wait until marriage, that's fantastic as well! We shouldn't be judging others who have sex before marriage just because it's a different belief than ours.

Love thy neighbor. Christians are supposed to spread love and the joy that God brings us. We aren't supposed to be attacking others and forcing our beliefs down people's throats. Not everyone is a Christian so you can't expect everyone to live and behave like one. What you should do when you are around someone who does not define themselves as a Christian is just talk to them about God -- don't belittle them and judge because again, you are not perfect either.

It's very simple really. God tells us not to judge one another and love each other. Why is that so hard for people? You can have your beliefs and still be accepting of others. After all, we do have something in common with everyone: we are all sinners and we all need Jesus. So quit throwing Bible verses in people's faces to prove you are right and actually try being loving and accepting. Before you write that rude comment and judge someone on what they have done, ask yourself: What would Jesus do?

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
