Let's be real here -- life is a roller coaster. Sometimes you're at the top and you can see the beauty around you, but sometimes you're at the bottom, trying your hardest to climb back up that hill to get back to that beautiful view. The ups and downs of life are a beautiful thing, although it's sometimes hard to recognize.
When you're at the lowest point in life, it's sometimes hard to realize that you're not going to be at that point forever. It's easy to dwell on what is making you feel so low, but it's even easier to look on the "bright side." It may seem like being positive won't solve your problems, but in actuality, it will. If you constantly keep yourself at that low point, you can't gain the momentum to bring you back up the hill to your highest point. When you're at this point, it may be hard to think of something positive when everything around you is negative. But even the smallest thing can lift your mood and give you even the tiniest lining of hope. If you find at least one thing a day that boosts your mood even the slightest bit, that's progress.
Although you may feel like you're trying to get out of a slump on your own, you're most definitely not. It's okay to ask people for help. Words can change someone's life. If you surround yourself with the people you love and those who love you, you can't go wrong. Love is the brightest side you can possibly cross over to. If you open your heart and let people in to help you, you'll be on your way back up to your high point.
It would be awesome if life was only high points. If there were no sadness, no anger, it seems as if the world would be a better place. However, it takes that sadness and anger to fuel someone to be a stronger person. If things were good all the time, we would forget to appreciate how good things actually are. It takes the bad things in life for us to realize the beauty of the good things.
So, if you're in a slump right now and you feel like you've plateaued, think of everything you've been through so far, and remember that you won't be stuck in your slump forever. It's amazing what can happen when you think positively.
